If you have recently brought home a dog then you want to make sure you are prepared to care for them in every way possible. There are many pet services available to dog owners that you want to familiarize yourself with. Knowing about these services can help you to better care for your dog in specific areas. Here are a few of the ones you should know about:

Dog Grooming—Certain dogs can be harder to groom than others due to their fur and what it takes to keep that fur in good condition. For example, a poodle that requires regular shaving will be harder to keep up with than a Doberman who requires only a bath and the occasional brushing to prevent excessive shedding and dandruff. There are dog groomers that you can bring your dog to and there are also mobile groomers who will drive a mobile grooming van to your home and take care of your dog's grooming needs right in your driveway.

Vaccination clinics—You can take your dog to the veterinarian for all of their shots. However, you may also have access to shot clinics that can be offered at certain locations on specific dates. These clinics will usually offer discounted shots and be located at parks or feed stores.

Dog boarding—If you are going to be going on vacation or leaving for an extended period of time for any other reason, then you want to have someone take care of your dog. You can take them to a boarding facility where you will know that they are being supervised properly, fed, exercised, cleaned up after and receiving attention.

Dog walking—If your dog requires more walks than what you are able to give them due to your busy schedule, then you can hire a dog walker who will pick them up from your home and take them on a walk for you. They will return the dog back to your home after the walk is completed.

Dog day care—If you feel bad leaving your dog at home every day while you are at work then you may want to check in to putting them in dog day care. This is a facility that will watch your dog for you during the day and you will go there and pick them up when you are ready to go home. Your dog will socialize with other dogs, play and be taken care of in an environment where they won't be left alone to feel bored or anxious, which can lead to destructive behaviors.
